Education

I completed both my undergraduate and master’s degrees at the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a dual B.S. and M.A. in Molecular Biology. I graduated summa cum laude with college honors and highest departmental honors. For my master’s research in Dr. Karen Lyons’ laboratory, I investigated the role of connective tissue growth factor in the development of long bones in murine models.

I remained at UCLA for medical school through the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP), where I earned my M.D. and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology. My doctoral research was conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Karen Reue, Ph.D where I delineated the function of the protein Diet1 in the intestine and kidneys of murine models.

I began my post-graduate training in 2022 at the Medstar Georgetown University Hospital Integrated Plastic Surgery Program. My research interests include complex extremity reconstruction in the lower extremities as well as improving clinical outcomes in hand surgery.

Clinical Interests

I am interested in complex reconstruction, including upper and lower extremities.

Mentoring/Outreach

I am passionate about mentorship and improving diversity in science and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
